I believe that being able to paint is much like a musician playing an intricate piece of music- you need to practice your scales every day in order to do so. It is much the same with art, but often I forget to be disciplined. Spend so much time on social media scrolling through beautiful works of art in the hopes of being inspired or learning something new. Now this too is important… but lately, I have been more concerned with finding inspiration in others, that I have neglected the inspiration that comes from practice… practice… practice.

So here begins a 30 day journey to get me back into the habit of creating. I will post the results here. I begin with an ink sketch of the beloved baobab – not yet complete, but I am hoping to watch it develop to completion.

About Jenny Reyneke Art

My earliest memories are of pens, paper, paint, pastels and poetry. They delight me still.
